ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kento Morita is a bilingual Japanese American actor, clown, and comedian based in New York. His work lives at the intersection of autobiography, devised theater, and clown, using play to transform personal history into performance. He trained at École Philippe Gaulier, Celebration Barn, The Second City New York, UCB, and The Barrow Group, and has performed with Woolly Mammoth, UCB, Caveat, Tokyo Comedy Bar, and Story Pirates. His credits include Marty Supreme (A24), Get Jiro! (Warner Bros. Animation), Rise of the Ronin (PlayStation), and Christmas in Miami (Amazon Prime). He is currently developing Japanese Grandma Funeral, an original show he is bringing to the Edinburgh Fringe, as part of his ongoing practice of blending clown, autobiography, and devised performance into intimate, unexpected theatrical experiences.

All artists welcome. No prior experience is necessary. Limited Space Available.
