REB MARTIN’s Passing the Jeu

Dates, Times, and Locations are subject to change.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Jeu means play in French and it’s also the lifeline of this pedagogy - you can have perfect amazing physical technique but with no jeu (play) why do it? What’s most important to me in this work is our ability to connect, take risks, and play together!

An intro to devising through the Pig Iron lens is a workshop that explores techniques learned at the Pig Iron School, devising work, and collaborative play. By using a few of the building blocks of the Pig Iron School’s MFA in devising - such as Lecoq Pedagogy, understanding the rhythms of entrances and exits, and entering the playing space with a question - we dive into ensemble exploration and the “Jeu” of devising.
